This pear variety embodies the classic traits found in the finest European pears, boasting a lusciously sweet and juicy, melting flesh with a subtle floral flavor. Ideal for novice gardeners, Beurre Hardy features a diploid ploidy, slightly large vigor, and an upright growth habit. While it is slow to start bearing, it maintains regular fruit-bearing patterns as a spur-bearer. However, it is not self-fertile and has poor pollination capabilities.
