Marimo Moss Balls, scientifically known as Aegagropila linnaei (formerly Cladophora aegagropila), are unique spherical algae originating from lakes in Japan, Iceland, Estonia, and Scotland. They typically reach a size of 2-5 cm (0.8-2 inches) in diameter. These moss balls thrive in low to moderate light and do not require additional CO2 supplementation. They are exceptionally easy to care for and can be placed in the foreground or left to float. While they can adapt to a wide range of water conditions, they prefer slightly cooler temperatures ranging from 15-25°C (59-77°F).

Marimo Moss Balls have a soft, velvety texture and are slow-growing. Periodically rolling or gently squeezing them ensures even growth. They also serve as natural filters, aiding in maintaining water quality.

Plants are incubated in a solution of 0.01% of the insecticide Buprafezin for one hour (Please do not just drop these in a shrimp tank or with any other crustacean. To use these within a tank please wash in water with baking soda under light. These are treated to remove the insecticide but there are cases where this has not been fully removed causing casualty's in crustacean. (Any issues please contact us we will sort ASAP)
