Beauty of Bath Apple
The Beauty of Bath apple is a historic English variety, originating in the 19th century near Bath, Somerset. Renowned for its early ripening, this small, dessert apple features pale, yellow-green skin, flushed and striped with red. Its cream flesh is sweet when ripe but quickly goes over and is best eaten straight off the tree. The tree is vigorous, producing a heavy crop in late summer, and requires a pollination partner from Groups 2, 3, or 4. With good disease resistance and a mature height and spread of 4–8 meters, depending on the chosen rootstock, Beauty of Bath is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking an early-season apple with a refreshing flavour.
